Strategic Plan 2024-2028

The 2024–2028 Strategic Plan for the Lee County Mosquito Control District (LCMCD) sets clear goals, timelines, and performance measures to enhance operations and comply with new Florida legislation. The new SMART goal-driven plan details more than 50 initiatives spanning multiple departments, including aircraft upgrades, IT modernization, enhanced mosquito surveillance, and expanded public education efforts. Key priorities include enhancing operational efficiency, expanding environmentally sustainable practices, and advancing the sterile insect technique (SIT) and drone-based mosquito control programs. Adopted in August 2024, the plan ensures transparency through quarterly reporting and positions LCMCD to meet the public health needs of a growing population.
