A Message from the Executive Director:

Aaron Lloyd
Executive Director

Since 1958, the Lee County Mosquito Control District has protected the health and quality of life of Lee County residents and visitors by reducing mosquito populations and the risk of mosquito-borne disease through professional, science-based mosquito control.

Lee County includes some of the most productive mosquito habitats in the world, from expansive salt marshes and mangroves to rapidly developing urban environments. In this complex setting, we follow an integrated mosquito management approach that prioritizes prevention and environmental stewardship, with rigorous monitoring of larval habitats, the use of environmentally responsible larvicides, and deployment of adult control only when surveillance thresholds or disease risks warrant it.

Our greatest strength is our people: District employees are trained and certified in Public Health Pest Control, they embrace continuous learning and research, and collaborate with partners at the local, state, national, and international levels. As Executive Director, my commitment is to support this culture of innovation and accountability, be a responsible steward of public resources, and uphold the trust our community places in us every day.

It is an honor to serve as Executive Director of the Lee County Mosquito Control District, and we will remain focused on serving Lee County and its residents with professionalism, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to public health.
